Chenault in First Place of Heptathlon After Day One of Bryan Clay Invite

AZUSA, Calif. – Christina Chenault of the UCLA track & field team completed a successful first day in the heptathlon at the Bryan Clay Invitational, which included a PR in the 100m hurdles, en route to climbing to first place in group three on Wednesday afternoon at Cougar Athletic Stadium.
 
Chenault recorded a time of 14.96 in the 100m hurdles, which topped her previous best of 15.11.
 
The native of Walnut Creek, Calif., currently has 3,184 points overall and a 40-point lead over Jordan Hirsbrunner of Wisconsin.
 
She won the shot put with a toss of 12.18m (39-11.5) and later finished the day in the 200m (25.06) dash, placing fourth out of 16 competitors in the group. Chenault also placed fifth in the high jump with a mark of 1.64m (5-4.5).
 
The heptathlon will conclude tomorrow with the long jump, javelin and 800m run.
