Alyssa Wilson became the second Bruin ever to launch 18 meters in the shot put, and Elleyse Garrett moved into a tie for No. 5 all-time in program history in the pole vault, as the UCLA track & field squad finished a busy week that included several PR's and top-10 marks.
On her final attempt of the afternoon, Wilson threw 18.02m (59-1.50), moving to No. 2 all-time in program history. To date, this is the top throw in the NCAA by over one foot.
Wilson's strong day didn't end there. The sophomore from New Jersey also PR'ed in the discus, logging 56.63m (185-09).
Meanwhile, Garrett cleared 4.31m (14-1.75) to finish third overall at the Beach Invitational, topping her previous record of 4.25m (13-11.25).
Beach Invitational
In the men's shot put, Dotun Ogundeji led the way for the Bruins, recording a top throw of 20.59m (67-6.75) on his final attempt to finish sixth. Otito Ogbonnia was the next closest Bruin, closing in at 18.47m (60-7.25).
The men's pole vault saw Tate Curran and Michael Fancey tie for 16th overall with a clearance of 5.02m (16-5.5), while Kyle Brown was next at No. 31 and 4.87m (15-11.75).
Mt. SAC Relays
The Mt. SAC Relays was highlighted by Riley Kelly's PR in the 800m, as the Australian finished the race in 1:49.01 to place ninth overall.
Myles Webb, Harrison Schrage, Seth Holloway and Leon Powell combined for a time of 39.85 in the 4x100m to finish fourth, while the female quartet of Suzie Acolatse, Tarika Moses, Schuyler Moore and Meleni Rodney placed first in their heat and seventh overall with a time of 44.89.
In the long jump, Harrison Schrage took fourth with a top mark of 7.53m (24-8.50).
Competing against a highly competitive field in the 100m, Suzie Acolatse recorded a 15th-place finish with a time of 11.72, and Myles Webb competed in his first 100m dash as a Bruin, placing 14th (10.51).
To finish the afternoon, the men's 4x400m team of Powell, Joe Herrera, Cameron Stone and Damion Marshall mustered a sixth-place finish (3:08.86).
