TOP-RANKED BRUINS HEAD TO MARY NUTTER COLLEGIATE CLASSIC
The defending National Champion and top-ranked UCLA Bruins travel to Cathedral City, Calif. this weekend for the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic. UCLA will open the tournament on Friday against Texas A&M at 5:30 p.m. The Bruins play twice on Saturday, versus Wisconsin (3 p.m.) and No. 7 Florida (5:30 p.m.), and twice on Sunday, against Auburn (9 a.m.) and the USA Olympic Team (11:30 a.m.). All five games will be broadcast on FloSoftball.com for a fee.
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Bruins host No. 4 Texas on Thursday, Feb. 27 at Easton Stadium at 6 p.m. The game will be live streamed for free on UCLABruins.com. UCLA then travels south for the San Diego Classic, facing Mount St. Mary's (Friday, Feb. 28 at 4:30 p.m.), Weber State (Saturday, Feb. 29 at 4:30 p.m.) and San Diego State (Saturday, Feb. 29 at 7 p.m.) on the campus of SDSU, and San Diego at USD on Sunday, March 1 at 2 p.m.
JORDAN, FARAIMO EARN NFCA NATIONAL WEEKLY HONORS
Following a 5-0 weekend at the St. Pete Clearwater Elite Invitational, redshirt junior Aaliyah Jordan was named Louisville Slugger/NFCA Player of the Week on Tuesday, while sophomore Megan Faraimo earned Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the Week accolades.
Jordan, who had eight hits last weekend, saved her best for last, recording a two-run, two-out double in the top of the seventh inning against No. 5 Florida State on Sunday, as UCLA eventually defeated the Seminoles, 3-2. Jordan had hits and RBI in all five Bruin victories, batting .571 (8-for-14) with eight runs batted in, five walks, four doubles, three runs scored and two stolen bases. The redshirt junior had three RBI, a pair of doubles and two walks earlier on Sunday against USF, as well as two hits and an RBI versus No. 15 Georgia on Saturday.
Jordan leads the team with a .577 batting average, 11 walks, an .846 slugging, seven doubles and a .711 on base percentage, while also ranking tied for second with 14 runs batted in.
Faraimo went the distance in all three of her victories last weekend, striking out 25 in 21 innings. She allowed just three earned runs and three walks. On Friday versus No. 9 Alabama, Faraimo tossed a two-hit shutout, striking out six. A day later, she fanned six more in seven innings against Georgia, giving up two earned runs, six hits and a walk. The sophomore closed out the weekend with 13 strikeouts against Florida State, allowing one earned run and five hits.
Faraimo is 6-0 on the season, having posted a 0.74 earned run average, six complete games, three shutouts and 58 strikeouts in 38 innings.
Jordan and Faraimo each earned their first NFCA weekly awards. It is the third year in a row the Bruins have been recognized with an NFCA National Player of the Week honor (Rachel Garcia, 2018 and 2019), and their 26th all-time. UCLA has won five NFCA National Pitcher of the Week awards (Ally Carda twice in 2015, Garcia twice in 2018).

**UCLA has outscored its opponents 29-0 in the first inning, scoring in its first at-bat in nine of 11 games.
**The reigning National Player of the Week, redshirt junior Aaliyah Jordan, carries a 10-game hitting streak into this week's action. She also has at least one RBI, one run and one walk in eight of 11 games. Jordan has multiple hits and multiple RBI in four games. The queen of doubles has 42 in her career, which is three away from joining the UCLA Top 10. Jordan also holds a .418 career average, which is tied for third in school history, and a .724 slugging and a .498 on base percentage, which are both solo third.
**The reigning National Pitcher of the Week, sophomore Megan Faraimo, has three double-figure strikeout contests, already matching her total from her freshman season. She struck out a career-best 14 against Pittsburgh on Feb. 8, 13 versus No. 5 Florida State last Sunday and 12 against CSU Bakersfield on Feb. 6. Faraimo, who has walked only three on the year and has posted three shutouts, has gone the distance in all six of her victories. She also has a pair of run-scoring doubles on the season for four RBI.

She has also scored multiple runs in five games and has driven in multiple runs in six. Perez's .390 career average currently puts her in a tie for sixth in UCLA history. Defensively, she is error-free in 30 attempts.
**Freshman Maya Brady has hits in 10 of 11 games and RBI in eight of 11, leading the team in home runs with five. Brady hit a grand slam against USF on Sunday and also drove in two runs versus No. 9 Alabama on Friday. During the opening weekend at the Stacy Winsberg Memorial Tournament, Brady hit four homers, drove in nine, scored nine times and went 9-for-18 (.500) to earn both Pac-12 Player and Freshman of the Week honors.
**Junior Holly Azevedo is a perfect 4-0 on the season, striking out 20 in 20 innings. She has won all three of her starts, while also picking up a victory in relief versus USF on Sunday. Azevedo, who didn't allow a run in her first 14 1/3 innings, has not thrown over 80 pitches in any game this season. She has a remarkable 30-1 record in her career.
**Sophomore Kelli Godin continues to turn over the lineup by getting on base, recording seven hits in 12 at-bats (.538) last weekend at the St. Pete Clearwater Elite Invitational. She scored five times and stole three bases. Godin has five two-hit games this season and has scored a run in eight of 11 contests, including two runs on three occasions.
**Graduate student Jenavee Peres announced her Bruin presence with authority last weekend in Florida. After missing the opening weekend (knee), Peres hit a solo homer and added a single and a walk on Friday against No. 9 Alabama. The next day, she had a three-run homer and two walks versus No. 15 Georgia. Peres concluded the weekend with a double in wins over USF and FSU.
**Junior Kinsley Washington tied for the team lead with eight runs scored last weekend in Florida, going 7-for-19 (.368). She connected on her second career homer against Liberty on Saturday, going 3-for-3 with three RBI. Washington opened and ended the first weekend strong, posting two hits and three RBI against CSU Bakersfield and three hits and three RBI versus San Diego.
**Freshman Seneca Curo jump-started the Bruin comeback on Sunday against No. 5 Florida State when she led off the top of the seventh with a double. She would end up coming home on Jordan's go-ahead double. During the opening weekend, Curo hit .500 (6-for-12) with 11 RBI, seven runs and two homers. She had hits in every game, hitting a two-run homer versus Pitt on Feb. 9 and a grand slam the next day against the Panthers, adding a bases-loaded hit by pitch for five RBI.
**Freshman Alyssa Garcia has hits in eight of her 10 games. In the contests against the three ranked opponents last weekend in Clearwater, she had an RBI double against Florida State, a single and a double versus Georgia and a single against Alabama.
**Junior Delanie Wisz had quite the Bruin debut on Feb. 6 against CSU Bakersfield. The LMU transfer belted a pair of home runs, a two-run shot and a solo bomb, adding a double for a three-hit game. Wisz also had two hits in a second contest versus Bakersfield on Feb. 8. She drove in a run on Saturday against No. 15 Georgia, walking twice on Friday versus No. 9 Alabama.

**Rachel Garcia and Bubba Nickles will both redshirt with UCLA this season after they were named to the USA Softball Olympic Team in October. The Bruins will face Garcia, Nickles and Bruin alums Ally Carda and Delaney Spaulding on Sunday in Cathedral City when UCLA takes on Team USA in the Stand Beside Her Tour.
