UCLA has won three of the last four contests, including a four-set win over the Huskies in November of last year. This will be the 134th edition of the crosstown rivalry, with UCLA holding a narrow 69-64 advantage in the all-time series. The Trojans have won four of the last five, but UCLA came out victorious in the most recent matchup, a five-set win in last year's regular season finale.

LAST WEEK'S RECAP
Graduate middle blocker Anna Dodson enjoyed the one of the best nights of her career, posting a career-best 24.5 points and 20 kills in a five-set defeat to No. 12 Minnesota on Friday night. The two teams were evenly matched in nearly every statistical category in the back-and-forth contest, however, the Golden Gophers avoided the reverse sweep by holding off the Bruins in the decisive fifth set. UCLA took a 2-1 lead in the match against Michigan, but the visitors rallied from behind and prevailed 15-13 in the final set to sneak out the victory.

DODSON'S DEFENSIVE DOMINANCE
In Big Ten action, Anna Dodson has 35.0 total blocks which leads the conference by a wide-margin. She leads Northwestern's Sophia Summers by 12 total blocks. Dodson has seven solo blocks and 1.94 blocks-per-set, both conference-leading marks. She collected a career-high 11 blocks against Michigan and 20 stops across the two matches last weekend.

PAKING A PUNCH
Audrey Pak enjoyed an excellent weekend at the setter position, recording two double-doubles with over 50 assists in each match.ย  She posted at least five blocks in each match as she impressed on the defensive end as well. Against No. 12 Minnesota, Pak connected on four of her seven swings, demonstrating her versatility in the attack. In Big Ten play, Pak is ranked second for assists (186) and tied for first in double-doubles (3).

OUTSTANDING OLSON
Grayce Olson was excellent in the match against Michigan, racking up a season-high 16 kills at an efficient .400 clip. She also led the team in points with 18.0. Olson registered four blocks on Saturday night and 12 digs across last weekend's matches to highlight her defensive effort.

UCLA OFFICIALLY JOINS THE BIG TEN CONFERENCE
UCLA officially joined the Big Ten Conference Aug. 2, ushering in a new era in the Bruins' storied and illustrious athletic tradition. UCLA, along with previous conference foes Oregon, USC and Washington, have moved to an 18-team Big Ten Conference with a footprint spanning from the Pacific to the Atlantic.
UCLA's approaching membership in the Big Ten Conference was initially announced more than two years ago, on June 30, 2022.

"The day has finally come," said Martin Jarmond, The Alice and Nahum Lainer Family Director of Athletics. "After two years of planning and preparation, UCLA is proud and excited to join the Big Ten Conference. I am grateful for the energy and effort that has been put into shaping this pivotal move by our hard-working staff members, as well as our coaches and student-athletes. The investments we have made into our programs and student-athletes over the past 24 months have set us up to continue to compete at the elite level that defines UCLA Athletics."

The Bruins' first home Big Ten Conference match will take place Sunday, Sept. 29 versus Ohio State in legendary Pauley Pavilion presented by Wescom at 3 p.m.
(PT). The contest will be available for viewing on B1G+.

UCLA was picked to finish eighth out of 18 teams in its first-ever Big Ten Volleyball Preseason Poll, it was announced by the conference office Aug. 1. The Bruins were slotted to finish behind fellow conference newcomers Oregon (6th) and USC (7th). UCLA is coming off a sixth-place finish in the Pac-12 a year ago after a second straight season with a 10-10 conference record.
