LOS ANGELES – UCLA Athletics Hall of Famer Keiko Price is a 2025 NCAA Silver Anniversary Award winner, one of six former student-athletes being honored for their outstanding collegiate and professional achievements at the NCAA Convention in January.
The Silver Anniversary Award recipients are recognized on the 25th anniversary of the conclusion of their college athletics careers. The awardees were nominated by administrators at their undergraduate school and are selected by a panel of former student-athletes and representatives from NCAA member schools and conferences.
A 22-time All-American and NCAA postgraduate scholarship recipient, Keiko Price shattered records and broke barriers during her four years at UCLA. As a freshman in 1997, she earned a team-best 26 first-place finishes and was awarded the team's Most Outstanding Newcomer/Freshman. The following three years, she earned the team's Most Valuable Swimmer award and was a three-time Pac-10 All-Academic selection. In 1999, she won the Pac-10 championship in the 100 Free with a winning mark of 49.54. Price once held five different Bruin records, and her best mark of 48.59 in the 100 free still ranks No. 3 all-time at UCLA. A member of the U.S. National Team, she qualified for three Olympic Trials.
In addition to her accolades in the pool, Keiko was an NCAA Postgraduate scholarship recipient, earned the Pac-10 postgraduate scholarship, and was also given the Sears' Directors' Cup Postgraduate scholarship.
Since graduating from UCLA, Keiko has steadily climbed the Collegiate Athletics ranks and currently serves as the Clyde Partin Sr., Director of Athletics, at Emory College in Atlanta, Georgia, a position she assumed duties of in November of 2020. Through Price's lead, Emory's run of success has continued, with Eagle programs winning six national championships and 19 University Athletic Association titles during her tenure. Individually, Emory athletes have won 19 national championships, 10 NCAA Postgraduate Scholarships, 35 CSC/CoSIDA Academic All-America honors and 177 individuals have earned All-America status.
Student-athlete development has flourished as well under Price's guidance with the creation of student-athlete identity groups: BSAG: Black Student-Athlete Group; APISA: Asian & Pacific Islander Student-Athlete; Emory Women in Sports; and Athlete Ally. Furthermore, Emory was the first Division III institution to partner with INFLCR as college athletics moved towards a new era with Name, Image and Likeness. The Eagles have also seen a rise in student-athlete development programming with the Eagle Edge initiative, and the implementation of a mental health clinician as Emory continues to put its athletes' mental health well-being as a top priority.
Prior to her time in Atlanta, Price served as the Athletic Academic Advisor at UC Berkeley (2004-2007), an Assistant Academic Director for student-athletes at Stanford (2007-10), and most recently at the University of Illinois as the Associate Director of Athletics, Academic Services.
During her administrative career, Price has been a member of NCAA Division III Management Council, NCAA Division III Subcommittee for Legislative Relief, NCAA Division I Swimming and Diving Championships Committee, NCAA Post-Graduate Scholarship Committee, Emory University Campus Life Executive Leadership Team, and has been a part of the USA Swimming's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council amongst other committees.
