Lake was drafted in the second round of the 1989 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers and enjoyed a stellar pro career as a safety, being named All-Pro four times and selected to five Pro Bowls. He was later named to the NFL All-Decade Team for the 1990s, finishing his career with 823 tackles, 16 forced fumbles and 16 interceptions, including three pick-6s.
