CARLSBAD, Calif. – UCLA senior Pablo Ereño finished in sixth place at the 2025 NCAA Championships, marking the Bruins' first top-10 individual NCAA Championships finish since 2014.
Ereño shot 5-under 283 over four rounds at Omni La Costa Spa & Resort. He concluded the four-day event by carding 3-under 69 in Monday's fourth round. Ereño shot 2-over 74 on Friday and 1-under 71 on Saturday before posting back-to-back scores of 3-under 69 on Sunday and Monday.
A senior from Madrid, Spain, Ereño became UCLA's first golfer to have finished in the top 10 on the individual leaderboard at the NCAA Men's Golf Championships since Lorens Chan in 2014 (t-9th, in Hutchinson, Kansas). In addition, Ereño's sixth-place finish was the best by any UCLA individual since Patrick Cantlay finished in a tie for fourth place at the 2012 NCAA Championships in the Pacific Palisades, Calif.
Ereño's sixth-place finish helped the senior vault into the final top-10 PGA TOUR U rankings. Ereño finished in the No. 10 spot while Bruins' teammate and fellow senior Omar Morales was ranked No. 9.
Ereño opened the fourth round on Monday afternoon from hole 10. He registered birdies on his first two holes, finishing the day with five birdies and two bogeys. Ereño finished two-under par through the final nine holes (holes 1-9).
Ole Miss' Michael La Sasso shot 11-under 277 through all four rounds to win the NCAA Division I individual national championship. He was followed on the individual leader by Phichaksn Maichon (Texas A&M, second place), Preston Stout (Oklahoma State, third place) and a tie between Jackson Koivun (Auburn) and Josele Ballester (Arizona State). Next on the leaderboard was Ereño, in sixth place.
