Woolery Selected UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week Presented by La Victoria

LOS ANGELES โ Senior Jordan Woolery of UCLA Softball has been selected the Student-Athlete of the Week presented by La Victoria for athletic competitions held between Feb. 3-9.

Woolery went 10-for-15 (.667) with a team-high 14 RBIs and five home runs, including a grand slam, in UCLA's historic 5-0 start that featured five mercy-rule wins. Woolery recorded multiple hits and homered at least once in four of her five starts. On day one of the season, Woolery went a combined 6-for-7 with nine RBIs, two home runs and a grand slam. On Saturday, she recorded a pair of RBI base hits in UCLA's second game of the day vs. Oregon State on a 2-RBI double and solo home run. In the Bruins' final game of the weekend vs. UC Riverside, she left the yard twice, contributing to the team's historic eight home run tally that set a new program single-game record. It was her fourth career multi-HR performance. The first of her two homers vs. UC Riverside was one of UCLA's five inning dingers in the first inning, which is tied for third-most in a single inning in NCAA history. As a team, UCLA set program Week 1 records for runs scored (58) and home runs (23).
