No. 11 Women’s Golf Finishes Third at Alice and John Wallace Classic

PALM DESERT, Calif. – The No. 11-ranked UCLA women's golf team placed third out of 16 teams at the Alice and John Wallace Classic at Monterey Country Club on Monday. The Bruins shot +18, 870 (293-284-293) over the three days of competition.
The only two teams to place ahead of UCLA were tournament champion USC (-17, 835) and runner-up Eastern Michigan (+9, 861). Eastern Michigan jumped ahead of UCLA in the team standings on the final day of the Alice and John Wallace Classic after shooting a -2, 282.
True freshman Kacey Ly led the Bruins with her second straight top-5 finish, tying for fourth in the field of 96 with an even-par score of 213 (73-69-71). Ly recorded only two bogeys over the final two rounds and notched her third sub-70 score of the season on day two with a -2, 69. Ly's round two score was the lowest 18-hole total for any Bruin during the tournament.
Sophomore Angela Liu also placed in the top 20 in 12th place at +4, 217 (73-72-72).
Junior Jennifer Seo, who competed as an individual, logged the first top-20 result of her career in a tie for 18th. Seo opened the tournament with a career-low -1, 70 in the first round before finishing at +7, 220 (70-77-73).
After Monday's results, UCLA improved its record to 52-15-3 on the season. A record with a .500+ winning percentage is required to qualify for the NCAA Tournament.

UCLA will co-host the Bruin Wave Invitational presented by Capillus with Pepperdine from Feb. 23-24 at Valencia Country Club in Santa Clarita, Calif. The Bruins won last year's event by 22 strokes with a score of +6, 870.
