THE BRUIN BOMBERS
โข Megan Grant and Jordan Woolery are compiling two of the most impressive offensive campaigns in program history this season. Grant (1.618 SLG) and Woolery (1.221 SLG) currently boast the top two slugging percentage totals in a single season by a Bruin.
โข Grant is the NCAA leader in slugging percentage (1.618), on-base percentage (.720), OPS (2.145) and walks (34) entering this weekend's series versus Michigan State. She is also tied for the national lead in home runs (19) and ranks third in RBIs (44). Grant has opened her senior campaign by reaching base in all 25 games, which is tied for fifth-longest streak in the country.
โข Grant is averaging one home run per every 2.9 at-bats and one walk per every 2.8 plate appearances. She is on pace to break the NCAA record for homers in a single season over UCLA's 52 scheduled games. Arizona's Laura Espinoza holds the record with 37 homers over 72 games in 1995. She is also on pace to break the NCAA slugging record (2010 Georgia Tech's Jen Yee, 1.270).
โข Batting behind Grant is Woolery, who is the NCAA RBI leader with 52 runs driven in (2.08 RBI/GP). Woolery, who has hit behind Grant in the No. 3 spot for every game this season, also ranks second in the NCAA in total bases (94), third in slugging percentage (1.221) and fourth in home runs (15).
โข Grant and Woolery have hit back-to-back home runs five times in their careers. Most recently, the "Bruin Bombers" hit back-to-back jacks in the first inning versus LMU on March 11. Grant and Woolery have hit next to each other in the Bruin batting order in 160 games. Additionally, Grant and Woolery have homered in the same game 16 times in their careers (last vs. Wisconsin on March 6, 2026).
โข Last season, Grant and Woolery were named consensus First Team All-Americans after helping UCLA reach a second consecutive Women's College World Series. Grant set the Big Ten single-season home run record with 26 and matched Stacey Nuveman as the fastest Bruins to reach 20 home runs in a season, both needing only 43 games. Several of Grant's totals from last year crackedย UCLA's single-season record book: second in home runs (26), third in RBIs (81), fourth in slugging (.933) and sixth in walks (49).
โข In 2025, Woolery set career bests across the board with a .424 batting average (86-for-203), .677 slugging percentage, 86 RBIs and 23 home runs while starting all 68 games. Her 86 RBIs and 180 total bases both rank second-most in UCLA single-season history. The Walnut Creek, Calif. native was tabbed a USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Top 10 Finalist.

PASSING THE CROWN

She passed her predecessor, former coach and NFCA Hall of Famer Sue Enquist who had an overall mark of 887-175-1 (.835). Sharron Backus, the inaugural coach in UCLA softball history, was the first to reach 800 wins as she retired with a record of 854-173-3 (.831).
