No. 14 Women’s Golf Returns to PING/ASU Invitational

LOS ANGELES – The No. 14 UCLA women's golf team returns to Phoenix, Ariz. next week to compete in the 60th annual PING/ASU Invitational at Papago Golf Club with play running from Monday, March 23 through Wednesday, March 25.
The three-day, 54-hole stroke play event tees begins at 7 a.m. (PT) each day. Rounds 1 and 2 will begin on hole Nos. 1 and 10 while Wednesday's final round will be a shotgun start.

UCLA last competed a week and a half ago at the GameAbove Invitational from March 8-9 where they placed seventh out of 11 programs with a score of +19, 883. Meghan Royal led the Bruins in the final round at Rolling Hills Country Club, delivering UCLA's lowest score of the event with a 4-under 68. Royal recorded five birdies against just one bogey to vault 16 spots up the leaderboard to finish tied for sixth at even-par 216. The performance marked her second top-10 finish of the season and her first this spring.
History at the PING/ASU Invitational
UCLA has captured the team title at the PING/ASU Invitational six times, the second-most in tournament history behind host Arizona State. The Bruins last claimed the title in 2016 and previously won three consecutive championships from 2010-12.
Five Bruins have combined to earn six individual medalist honors at the PING/ASU Invitational. Bethany Wu most recently captured medalist honors in 2019 with a 7-under performance, highlighted by a final-round 4-under 68 to rally from four strokes back and secure her first collegiate victory. UCLA's six individual titles are tied with Stanford for the second-most in tournament history, trailing only Arizona State. Other Bruin medalists include Bronte Law, Ani Gulugian, Stephanie Kono and Charlotte Mayorkas, who won twice.
