The Bruins (38-5) hit six home runs, with two by Jordan Woolery and one each from Rylee Slimp, Alexis Ramirez, Aleena Garcia and Jolyna Lamar. Woolery finished 3-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBIs, pushing her NCAA-leading total to 86. She now has 25 home runs on the season following her sixth career multi-homer game.
UCLA, with 140 home runs, is seven shy of tying the Big Ten Conference single-season record of 147 set by Ohio State last season.
ย
UCLA took its first lead of the night in the bottom of the sixth. Pinch hitter Soo-Jin Berry led off the frame with a line-drive single that popped out of the glove of Lancers (34-14) third baseman Malachy Russell-Millen. Lamar, following her home run in her previous at-bat, delivered a go-ahead RBI double down the left-field line to score Berry from first and give UCLA a 7-6 lead.

Sophomore Kaniya Bragg drove in two insurance runs with a single through the left side, giving Bruins starting pitcher Taylor Tinsley a three-run cushion. Garcia capped the seven-run sixth with a three-run homer that glanced off the top of the wall and into the left-field netting, extending the lead to 13-6. Garcia has now homered in five consecutive games, the longest streak of her career.
ย
Garcia also flashed her defensive prowess in the top of the sixth, recording the second out by sprinting to a ball up the middle and making a 360-degree spin before throwing to first.

Lamar's home run in the bottom of the fourth tied the game at 6-6 and marked her 10th of the season. For the first time in program history, seven players have reached double-digit home runs in a single season.
ย
Tinsley closed out the complete-game victory by retiring the final 13 batters she faced. The right-hander from Lawrenceville, Georgia, improved to 21-3 on the year. She allowed six earned runs on six hits and one walk while striking out three.
ย
After a four-run first inning by California Baptist, UCLA answered with two runs in the bottom half, both via the longball. Slimp hit her fourth leadoff home run of the year, and Woolery added her first of two homers on the night.
ย
Woolery's second homer came in the bottom of the third. Ramirez followed with a two-run blast later in the inning.
ย
Poor baserunning cost UCLA two prime scoring opportunities. After Lamar's leadoff home run in the fourth, Slimp and Megan Grant drew back-to-back walks with no outs. Woolery then laced a single off the right-center field wall, but Slimp was caught in a rundown between third and home and was tagged out. On the next play, Lancers right fielder Stevie Robison made a diving catch on a shallow fly ball and doubled off pinch runner Jaella Ann Mercado, who failed to tag up at second.
ย
In the fifth, Garcia was called out for leaving early on a base hit by Bri Alejandre that would have put two runners in scoring position with one out. As a result, Alejandre returned to the plate with a full count and later flied out to end the inning.
