Hawk Named Big Ten Co-Pitcher of the Week
May 04, 2026 | Baseball
ROSEMONT, Ill. – Sophomore right-handed pitcher Easton Hawk has been named Big Ten Co-Pitcher of the Week after locking down three straight saves in No. 1 UCLA's weekend sweep at Michigan State. This marks the first weekly honor of his career.
Hawk preserved late leads in all three games, recording two four-out saves before closing out Sunday's comeback win with a perfect ninth. He allowed just one hit across 3.2 dominant innings, the lone baserunner he surrendered all weekend. It marked the second time this season he has notched a save in all three games of a series, previously doing so against Minnesota from April 17-19.
Hawk has settled into lockdown form, allowing just six earned runs across 31.0 innings with 36 strikeouts, only 19 hits, and a sparkling 1.74 ERA. His last 19 appearances have been especially impressive: Hawk has thrown 20.1 consecutive innings without allowing a single run, giving up just three hits in that entire stretch while striking out 25 and converting 10 saves. Hawk ranks second in the nation with 12 saves this season.
Hawk and the Bruins will head to Loyola Marymount tomorrow at 6 p.m. PT for a midweek contest. Live coverage will be available on B1G+.
