Grant, Tinsley and Woolery Selected in 2026 AUSL College Draft
May 04, 2026 | Softball
Seniors Megan Grant, Taylor Tinsley and Jordan Woolery were selected in the Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL) College Draft on Monday afternoon.
ย
Grant was the first Bruin taken, going fourth overall to the Portland Cascade. Fellow slugger Woolery was also selected in the first round, going sixth overall to the Utah Talons. Tinsley will join Woolery in Utah, as the Talons selected her in the second round with the No. 12 overall pick.
ย
Grant was the first hitter selected in this year's draft, while Woolery was the third.
ย
Grant, Tinsley and Woolery were awarded AUSL Golden Tickets earlier this season after the conclusion of the Bruins' double-header sweep over California on April 18. UCLA's three Golden Ticket recipients are the most the league has ever awarded at one time.
ย
UCLA's senior trio joins nine other Bruins already assigned to AUSL rosters, the most of any program. That group includes Megan Faraimo (Talons), Sharlize Palacios (Talons), Jadelyn Allchin (Talons), Jessica Clements (Bandits), Maya Brady (Spark), Bubba Nickles-Camarena (Spark), Delanie Wisz (Spark), Rachel Garcia (Volt) and Ally Carda (Volt).
ย
Longtime assistant coaches Lisa Fernandez (Talons) and Kirk Walker (Spark) also serve in leadership roles in the league as general managers. Fernandez, with the help of players Allchin, Faraimo, Palacios and Brady, guided the Talons to the inaugural AUSL title last summer.
ย
UCLA softball leads all programs in representation in the AUSL, which debuted in its new format in Summer 2025. Under commissioner Kim Ng, the AUSL has become the most successful domestic professional women's softball league to date. Its inaugural 2025 season featured 24 sellouts, 90% average stadium capacity and an 88% increase in ESPN viewership from 2024, when it operated as a point-based league.
ย
Beginning in 2026, the AUSL will transition to a city-based model, adding two expansion franchises to bring the league total to six teams. Action gets underway shortly after the conclusion of the Women's College World Series on June 9. The season will wrap up with the AUSL Championship Series from July 25-27.
