Alejandre Advances to NFCA National Freshman of the Year Top 10 List

LOUISVILLE, Ky. โ Infielder Bri Alejandre was named to the 2026 NFCA Division I National Freshman of the Year Top 10 list on Thursday afternoon.

The three finalists will be released on May 20. The winner will be revealed on May 26, prior to the start of the 2026 NCAA Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City.

With Alejandre's nod, UCLA brings its total to nine Top 10 recipients for NFCA National Freshman of the Year. Redshirt freshman Aleena Garcia made the Top 25 earlier this season.

Alejandre ranks second nationally among freshmen with 72 RBIs and fourth with 20 home runs. The Alhambra, California, native has tied the UCLA freshman home run record of 20, set in 1997 by Stacey Nuveman. On the season, Alejandre owns a .317 batting average (51-for-161), 33 extra-base hits, 72 RBIs, 49 runs scored and a .770 slugging percentage.

The top 10 list, along with the top three and winner, are voted on by the NFCA Division I All-America Committee. To be eligible, student-athletes must be nominated by their member head coach and in their first year of NCAA Division I collegiate competition as a true freshman or redshirt freshman.
