    Junior forward Matt Barnes (Citrus Heights, CA/Del Campo HS) of the UCLA Men's Basketball Team was selected as the UCLABruins.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Dec. 11-17.

    Barnes scored inside with 47 seconds remaining to seal a 65-60 UCLA win over UC Irvine Dec. 16. Barnes finished the game with 16 points (8-10 from the free throw line) and a career-high tying 10 rebounds. He also recorded one block and one steal.

    The Student-Athlete of the Week honor is the first for Barnes this season.
