Junior guard Michelle Greco (LaCrescenta, CA/Crescenta Valley HS) of the UCLA Women's Basketball Team was selected as the UCLABruins.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Dec. 4-10.
Greco led UCLA to its first victory of the season, scoring a career-high 34 points in the Bruins' 86-60 win over Long Beach State Dec. 10. She scored UCLA's first nine points of the second half on her way to hitting eight of 12 shots after intermission. She also connected on all seven free throws in the half. Greco finished the game shooting 12-24 from the field and 8-8 from the foul line. She also recorded two rebounds, two assists and two steals in 36 minutes of play.
In scoring 34 points, Greco became the 16th Bruin ever to join the 30-point club. Greco's 12 field goals made and 8-8 free throw shooting also tie a Pac-10 season high. She leads the conference in scoring with a 20.1 per game average.
The Student-Athlete of the Week honor is the first for Greco this season.
