Senior Beth Goodwin (Jarrettsville, MD/North Harford HS) of the UCLA Women's Swimming and Diving Team was selected as the UCLABruins.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Feb. 20-25.
Goodwin led the Bruins to a second-place finish (1,130 points) at the Pac-10 Conference Championships, their highest finish since the 1995-96 season.
Goodwin placed third in the 100 Fly with a season-best time of 53.29 and second in the 200 Fly with a time of 1:59.72. She also swam in four relays that met NCAA "B" qualifying standards - 400 freestyle relay (5th place/3:21.89), 200 freestyle relay (3rd place/1:32.45), 400 yard medley relay (5th place/3:41.63) and 200 medley relay (6th/1:42.47).
This is Goodwin's first student-athlete of the week honor of her career.
