Mettler was a four-year letterwinner at Pitman High School in Turlock, Calif. โฆ played for head coach Joe Lewis โฆ three-time Central California Athletic League (CCAL), All-District and CalHiSports All-State selection โฆ recorded a career slash line of .573/.665/1.011 with 98 hits, 15 home runs 18 doubles, six triples, 83 runs batted in and 74 runs scored in her four seasons โฆ was walked 47 times in 222 plate appearances โฆ as a senior in 2023, recorded a .536 batting average with 30 hits, six home runs, three doubles and 23 RBI โฆ as a junior in 2022, Mettler recorded a .492 batting average with 30 hits, nine doubles, four home runs and 19 RBI โฆ as a sophomore in 2021, she helped Pitman win a share of the CCAL Championship with a .727 batting average, including 24 hits and four home runs โฆ played club ball with the Firecrackers.
