Appeared in seven meets during the outdoor season … Claimed first-place at the Rafer Johnson/Jackie-Joyner Kersee Invitational, the Texas Relays, the USC Dual Meet, and the Pac-12 Championships … Broke her school record for the fourth time at the Pac-12 Championships with a mark of 58.72m (192-08), repeating as the Conference champion … the mark is also third on the all-time Pac-12 Top 10 List … Qualified for the national championships after placing sixth in the region at the NCAA West First Rounds (53.76m, 176-04) … Named Second Team All-America at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships, finishing 12th in the nation in the javelin throw.

Made her historic Bruin debut at the Rafer Johnson-Jackie Joyner-Kersee meet inside Drake Stadium… Set the new outdoor school record in the javelin throw on March 25, recording a mark of 53.20m (174-06.00)… Went on to break her own record at the next three meets: 53.52m – Texas Relays (Mar. 31), 53.57m, Jim Click Shootout (April 8), 57.81m, Pac-12 Championships (May 12)… Captured the individual Conference title, claiming first at the Pac-12 Championships… Qualified for the NCAA outdoor national championships with her 54.47m mark at the west regional meet… Placed seventh in the nation, throwing 55.79m (183-00) at the University of Texas-hosted meet on June 8… Earned First Team All-America for the outdoor season... European Athletics U23 Championships: Finished eighth in the women’s javelin throw, recording a mark of 53.72m for the Italian national team… FISU World University Games: Botter competed again for Italy at the University Games in Chengdu, China… The grad student recorded a mark of 48.79m to place 11th in the international meet.
Prior to UCLA:
From Venice, Italy… Attended the University of Udine from 2019-2022… Joined the Italian National Team in 2017… competed with the national team first at the 2017 European Youth Summer Olympic Festival… Competed at the u18 and u20 European Championships, placing fifth at the u20 competition… Qualified for the u18 and u20 World Championships but did not compete due to COVID-19 restrictions… Has won four Italian national titles, and claimed four silver medals in national competitions… Competed in three European Winter Throwing Cups…
On her choice to come to Los Angeles, Botter says UCLA was her “dream since I was a child.” Drawn to the Bruins because of the high academic standard, the palm trees, the ocean and the weather… A self-proclaimed beach person, she loves staying outdoors and playing sports… Says UCLA is “the best place to be”… Most admires Kobe Bryant as her favorite professional athlete… Says Bryant “was a true motivator, and he believed that motivating and inspiring others was one of the most important things he could do”… Also admires Serena Williams because she sows “women could be strong and beautiful and still win”… Her favorite passion is snowboarding, saying it makes her “feel free and fills me with adrenaline”… Enjoys other adventure sports: sky diving, windsurfing… Is an early bird who likes to read, and always listens to music every moment she can… Loves the NBA… Always tries to match her headband to her uniform…
