Seattle, Wash. - Playing in just her first tournament as a UCLA Bruin, freshman Daniela Bercek advanced to the Flight-I singles final at the Pac-10 Indoor Championships hosted by the University of Washington.

Bercek, unseeded in the 16-player singles draw, defeated top-seeded Raquel Kops-Jones of Cal in the semifinals on Saturday. She was eventually beaten by second-seeded Daria Panova of Oregon, 6-4, 6-3.

Three Bruins advanced to the semifinals in the Flight-III singles draw, as Laura Gordon, Lauren Fisher and Feriel Esseghir all advanced through early-round action. Fisher defeated Gordon in one semifinal, 4-6, 7-6(5), 7-6(1). In the other, Esseghir defeated Arizona's Kelly Perry, 6-2, 6-0. Esseghir ended up defeating Fisher for the title, winning 7-5, 6-3.

In doubles action, top-seeded Bercek and Sarah Gregg of UCLA captured the Flight-II title with an 8-2 victory over USC's DeVera/Matias.
