#6 UCLA Posts Wins Over Bakersfield and Irvine Valley College

The pairings of Jessyka Ngauamo and Kamila Tan and Karly Drolson and Rachel Inouye each won twice.

IRVINE, Calif. - The sixth-ranked Bruins recorded a pair of victories on Saturday, defeating Bakersfield 3-2 and Irvine Valley College 4-1. The #1 doubles team of sophomore Kamila Tan and freshman Jessyka Ngauamo and the #3 squad of sophomores Karly Drolson and Rachel Inouye each won twice.

In the matchup with the host school, the Bruins won at #1, #2, #3 and #5 doubles. Ngauamo and Tan beat IVC's Annie Mitchem and Becky Moodie, 22-20, 21-7. Senior Madie Smith and junior Zoë Nightingale beat Marisa Doran and Kobi Peckich, 21-15, 21-19. Drolson and Inouye recorded a 21-11, 21-13 victory over Emily Daily and Haley Whyte, while sophomore Taylor Formico and freshman Natalie Miller won at #5 doubles over Haily Jones and Shaelyn Perez, 21-17, 18-21, 15-8.

Versus Bakersfield, the Bruins claimed victories at #1, #3 and #4 doubles. The duo of Ngauamo and Tan beat Debora Araujo and Molly O'Hagan, 21-17, 21-17. Drolson and Inouye knocked off Julia Bowen and Hazel Perrens, 21-19, 18-21, 15-7. At #4, freshmen Skylar Dykstra and Jennie Frager recorded a 21-15, 21-12 win over Lisa Bartsch and Sydney Haynes.

The Bruins play Florida State next Friday, March 14 at 5 p.m. on the campus of USC.
