Eighth-Ranked Bruins Fall to #1 Oregon in Series Finale

LOS ANGELES - The eighth-ranked Bruins were shut out for the first time this season in a 10-0, five-inning loss to #1 Oregon on Sunday at Easton Stadium.
Offensively, the Bruins (31-8, 6-3 Pac-12) were held to a first-inning single for sophomore Delaney Spaulding and a second-inning single by freshman Maddy Jelenicki.
In the circle, senior Ally Carda (17-4) struck out two in 3 1/3 innings, giving up nine runs (eight earned), six hits and five walks. Freshman Johanna Grauer tossed 1 2/3 frames of scoreless relief, fanning one and giving up a run and four hits.
After two scoreless innings, Oregon (32-5, 10-2) scored five times in the third. With the bases loaded, Danica Mercado was hit by a pitch to bring in the game's first run and Koral Costa followed with a homer to left-center to make it 5-0.
In the fourth, the Ducks recorded their second grand slam of the game, as Janelle Lindvall sent one out to left to increase the visitors' lead to 9-0. Oregon tacked on one more run in the fifth on an RBI single by Geri Ann Glasco.
