Lenz finishes eighth in the platform final with a score of 690.60.


COLUMBUS, Ohio – UCLA diver Annika Lenz placed eighth in the platform event at the 2016 USA Diving Winter National Championships, held at McCorkle Aquatics Pavilion in Columbus.  The senior recorded a final score of 690.60 in Tuesday afternoon's finals.

In the platform prelims, Lenz placed 12th with a five-dive score of 194.70 to advance to the semifinals.  There, she remained in 12th with a running total of 439.55.  In the finals on Tuesday, the Bruin climbed three spots to check in at eighth.  Lenz' highest score in the finals (60.00) came from her final dive of the session, a forward 3 ½ somersault pike. 

The Bruins return to action in the New Year when they host Kansas and Boise State Jan. 6 at 12 pm PT.  Closing out the 2016-17 home campaign the following weekend, the swim team welcomes Utah Jan. 13 while the diving team hosts the Bruin Diving Invitational Jan. 13-15.
