UCLA senior Kendall Gustafson set a new school record in the pentathlon, scoring 4,065 points to win at the Dr. Sander Invitational in New York City.

Gustafson took first place on four events, winning the 60 Hurdles (8.91), high jump (1.69m), shot put (12.73m), and long jump (5.76m). She placed second in the 800 (2:21.15) behind teammate Christina Chenault (2:17.76). Chenault finished second overall with a personal-best score of 3,872, which ranks No. 5 all-time at UCLA.

Gustafson breaks the UCLA school record previously held by Ryann Krais, who scored 4,041 points at the 2010 MPSF Indoor Championships. Gustafson's previous personal best total was 3,958.

The Dr. Sander Invitational continues on Friday morning.
