No. 17 Women's Tennis Downs San Francisco 4-1 on Road

SAN FRANCISCO – Playing its first match away from home since Feb. 4, the No. 17 UCLA women's tennis team began its Northern California road trip with a 4-1 win against San Francisco Tuesday at The Olympic Club.
Anne-Christine Lutkemeyer clinched the victory. Bianca Fernandez and Ahmani Guichard also prevailed for the Bruins (10-3), who extended their winning streak to eight, in singles play. The Dons (3-8) picked up their point when Julia Visaya won in singles play.
The combination of Guichard and Lutkemeyer improved to 11-1 overall and 5-0 in dual-match play with its 6-1 triumph over Katerina Filip and Azaria Hayes on Court 2. The doubles point was secured shortly thereafter on the top court, where Tian Fangran and Elise Wagle earned their third win in as many decisions with a 6-3 handling of Hana Gamracy and Erin Richardson.
Guichard's fifth victory in as many finished singles contests came in commanding fashion, as the freshman bested Alicia Yue 6-0, 6-1 on Court 5. Another freshman winning streak continued on Court 2, where No. 72 Bianca Fernandez of UCLA downed Gamracy 6-2, 6-2. Fernandez has logged seven straight-set singles wins in as many decisions.
Mia Jovic made her dual-match debut for the Bruins on Court 6. The Torrance, Calif. native, who was leading 4-2 alongside Fernandez on the third doubles court when their match was abandoned, fell 6-4, 6-1 against Visaya.
Lutkemeyer turned in her fourth consecutive straight-set singles win, beating Hayes 6-1, 6-3 on Court 4 for the day's final result. Each of her singles wins during the run has been accompanied by a doubles victory. Lutkemeyer and Guichard are tied for the team lead in total singles wins with 14.
UCLA's road trip continues Friday, when it visits No. 5 Stanford. First serve is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. PT at Taube Family Tennis Center.
