Men's Tennis Logs First Fall Results of Season

The UCLA men's tennis team opened the fall portion of its 2025-26 schedule last week at tournaments in Tulsa, Okla. and Thousand Oaks, Calif. Four Bruins took part in the ITA All-American Championships on the University of Tulsa's campus, while three others competed at the Sherwood Collegiate Cup closer to home.
No. 36 Emon van Loben Sels was UCLA's standout performer at ITA All-Americans, beating four nationally-ranked singles opponents. He notched victories against No. 59 Zsombor Velcz of Baylor and No. 54 Sebastian Eriksson of Texas in the main draw before falling to eventual champion and fifth-ranked Jay Friend of Arizona. The Bruin redshirt junior also defeated No. 123 Jakub Vrba and No. 101 Alexandru Chirita of Baylor in consolation play.
In doubles play at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center, eighth-ranked van Loben Sels/Spencer Johnson defeated No. 29 Henrik Bladelius/Noa Vukadin of Clemson 6-1, 7-6(0). No. 19 Johnson also advanced out of the singles main draw's first round after No. 50 Oscar Lacides of Oklahoma defaulted.
At the Sherwood Country Club, Bengt Reinhard and Cassius Chinlund earned their first UCLA wins. Chinlund triumphed twice in singles play on Day 1, while Reinhard prevailed once. Gianluca Ballotta was also victorious in singles play. Chinlund and Reinhard also collaborated on a doubles win.
