No. 5 Softball Opens Season at Easton Stadium Thursday

LOS ANGELES โ The No. 5-ranked UCLA softball team opens the 2025 season with six games at the Stacy Winsberg Memorial Tournament and Mark Campbell Invitational this week. The Bruins (0-0) begin the season on Thursday, Feb. 6 at 6 p.m. (PT) versus Cal State Fullerton at Easton Stadium.

UCLA will play two more home contests Friday, Feb. 7 versus IU Indianapolis at 4 p.m. and Utah Tech at 6:30 p.m. Saturday's action consists of two games at the Mark Campbell Invitational hosted at Bill Barber Park in Irvine, Calif. versus Nevada at 3:30 p.m. and Lehigh at 6 p.m. UCLA returns to Easton Stadium Sunday, Feb. 9 to take on UC Riverside at 10:30 a.m.

All four of UCLA's week one home games will be available for live streaming on Big Ten Plus (B1G+). In total, 30 of UCLA's non-televised home games and Big Ten Conference road games will be live streamed on B1G+.

The Bruins are celebrating their 50th anniversary as an organized collegiate softball program in 2025. UCLA's first season was in 1975 under the umbrella of the Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW). The sport was adopted by the NCAA seven years later in 1982. No program has won more national championships (13) or made more Women's College World Series (WCWS) appearances (32) than UCLA.

ย In fact, UCLA is the only program in softball history to have won a national championship in all five full decades of the sport's existence. The Bruins won the first NCAA Softball Championship in 1982 and were the first program to repeat titles (1984-85) and three-peat (1988-90). The Bruins boast 132 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America honors, four Honda Cup awards and 12 Honda Sport Awards โ all three good for the most in NCAA softball.

โข UCLA posted a 43-12 record and 17-4 mark in conference play, claiming the Pac-12 regular season and Pac-12 Tournament titles.

โข The season was highlighted by a 13-game winning streak, stretching from April 28 through game one at the WCWS.
โข UCLA won five games when trailing by four-plus runs and recorded 11 wins when tied or trailing in the fifth inning or later.
