Cross Country Set for Gans Creek Classic in Missouri

COLUMBIA, Mo.ย โ The UCLA cross country team is set to return to action for its second meet of the season โ and first since Aug. 29 in Big Bear, Calif. โ on Friday, Sept. 26 at the Gans Creek Classic hosted by Missouri.
The Bruins are set to compete in the Men's Black Invitational at 6:15 a.m. PT (8:15 a.m. CT) and the Women's Gold Invitational at 7 a.m. PT (9 a.m. CT).ย
Besides the Bruins and host Tigers, other schools slated to race include Air Force, Alabama, Baylor, BYU, Duke, Florida, Kansas, Michigan, Michigan State, Northern Arizona University, Nebraska, Ohio State, Oregon, Texas Tech, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Wake Forest, Washington State, and many others.ย

Big Ten Runners to Watch
Prior to the start of the 2025 cross country season, juniorย Henry Coughlanย and sophomoreย Olivia Foodyย were named to the Big Ten Cross Country Preseason Runners to Watch List.
Coughlan, a transfer from Texas, sat out the majority of the 2024-25 school year, but placed 36th at the South Central XC Regional in fall of 2023.
Foody was an All-Big Ten Freshman pick last fall after finishing fifth among all first-years at the league championships. She proceeded to post the best time of any Bruin in the 3000m (9:42.10) during the outdoor track season in spring 2025.
