Woolery Earns Second Big Ten Player of the Week Award
February 23, 2026 | Softball
ROSEMONT, Ill. – Senior infielder Jordan Woolery on the No. 9-ranked UCLA softball team earned her second Big Ten Player of the Week award of the season after helping the Bruins to a perfect 6-0 weekend at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic.
This marks Woolery's second career conference weekly honor after nabbing her first in Week 1 of the 2026 season. Woolery led the Bruins (13-3) over their six games with 17 RBIs and four home runs, including two grand slams. She also recorded a .444 batting average (8-for-18) and 1.222 slugging percentage with six extra-base hits.
Woolery opened the weekend with her third three-hit game of the season against Auburn on Thursday. In that game, Woolery hit a grand slam in a historic 18-run third inning, which is tied for the second-most runs scored in a single inning in NCAA history. Incredibly, Woolery recorded a base hit in each of her three at-bats while logging eight total bases (HR, 2 2B) in that third inning. Her grand slam marked the 50th homer of her career.
The next day, Woolery helped UCLA surmount a three-run deficit against Nevada with an RBI single up the middle in the fifth inning. Later in the evening, she hit a go-ahead three-run homer in the second inning against No. 20 Duke that put UCLA up for the remainder of that ballgame.
On Saturday, Woolery reached base in all three of her plate appearances in game one against Fresno State. Her only hit was a home run while she was also walked and hit by a pitch. Later in the evening, she drew a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the seventh inning versus No. 13 South Carolina as part of UCLA's epic rally from down 4-0. Woolery's walk scored the second run in the five-run comeback, which also marked her 200th career RBI. UCLA went on to walk it off in last year's Super Regional rematch with its largest seventh-inning comeback since the 2016 season.
UCLA faced an early 5-0 deficit on a getaway day versus Texas A&M. Woolery came through in the bottom of the second with a go-ahead grand slam - her second of the weekend and third of the season - to put UCLA up for the rest of the game.
Next up, Woolery and UCLA play five games over three days at the Judi Garman Classic on the campus of Cal State Fullerton next week from Feb. 27-March 1. The Bruins open competition against East Texas A&M (12 p.m. PT) and Florida (2:30 p.m. PT) on Friday, Feb. 27 at Anderson Family Field.
