LOS ANGELES – The No. 1-ranked UCLA baseball team rode a multi-homer performance from Mulivai Levu and a dominant complete game from Wylan Moss to an 11–1 run-rule win over No. 13 Oregon on Friday night at Jackie Robinson Stadium.
The Bruins (45-4, 25-0 Big Ten) stayed perfect in conference play and matched the longest league winning streak in Big Ten history at 27 games, a run that dates back to 2025. UCLA also handed Oregon (35-13, 17-8) its first Friday-night loss of the season while remaining unbeaten in Friday games itself.
Levu powered the offense with two home runs as part of a 3-for-4 night, pushing his season total to 16. Payton Brennan added his ninth homer in a two-hit effort, and Roman Martin collected his 22nd multi-hit game. Dean West, Roch Cholowsky, and Will Gasparino each added a hit to round out UCLA's 10-hit attack.
On the mound, Wylan Moss (5-0) earned his fifth win of the season in a sparkling outing that saw him pitch a career-high 7.0 innings for the complete game victory. Moss racked up nine strikeouts to finish just one shy of his career-high and limited the Ducks to just three hits. The right-hander lowered his ERA to 1.89 in the process, capping one of the Bruins' most commanding wins of the season.
UCLA jumped in front early in the bottom of the first, stringing together three hits to plate a pair. Cholowsky sparked the inning with an infield single deep in the hole at short, Martin followed with a hard line drive up the middle, and Brennan worked a four-pitch walk to load the bases. Gasparino delivered the big swing, ripping a two-run double into right to give the Bruins an early cushion.
The Bruins broke the game open with a four-run third, stretching the lead to six. Cholowsky opened the inning with a walk, and Levu immediately made it count by launching a two-run homer to center for his 15th big fly of the season. Martin was hit by a pitch, Brennan followed a single, and Cashel Dugger drew a walk to load the bases. Trey Gudoy then chopped a grounder to the left side and beat the throw to avoid the double play, but the throw would get away from the first baseman, allowing Brennan to score and cap the four-run surge.
UCLA answered right back after Oregon scratched across a run in the fourth, pushing two more across in the home half to stretch the lead. West opened the inning with a sharp single up the middle, Cholowsky reached on a fielder's choice, and Levu legged out an infield hit to put two aboard. Brennan reached on an error to load the bases, and Cholowsky raced home on a wild pitch to score. After an intentional walk to Gasparino, Dugger drew a bases-loaded walk to push the lead to seven.
The Bruins then used a pair of blasts from Levu and Brennan to spark a three-run sixth, extending the lead to 10. Levu mashed a liner to left-center for his second bomb of the game, then Brennan launched a towering shot to right field for a two-run homer.
Moss finished the job in the seventh, and the game went final via run rule with UCLA leading by 10 after seven innings.
The Bruins return to Jackie Robinson Stadium for the second game of the series tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. PT. The game will be nationally broadcast on Big Ten Network.
